ANZAC DAY

Today in Australia and New Zealand is Anzac day which is the commemmeration of the Australian and New Zealand armed forces arriving at Galipoli, Turkey in 1915 during the first world war. Yesterday (24 April) the school my girls attend did a wonderful service to commemerate our soldiers. The school also made this Peace sign complete with doves and it is also being sent overseas to the soldiers who are currently serving. Claire's class was asked to bring in some flowers so that a wreath could be made. This is what the teachers made with all the flowers.

At the end of the service there was an opportunity for others to lay flowers. As there were plently of flowers from Claire's class, she was asked to lay them at the flag pole with the other wreaths that had been made by the other classes. The teacher conducting this service was moving quickly so Claire went up with her teacher.

And to top off her great day at school, she was also sat some tests for the Gifted and Talented programme that is offered at school. Well done honey.
