Zodiac Theme ATC

Welcome to 2009 and the first ATC swap for the Scrapbook Cupboard. The theme for January was Zodiac. Boy did I find this challenging. I was literally stumped on what to do and even after looking at google I was no closer to where I wanted to be. The thought of taking photo of my Zodiac branded automatic pool cleaner crossed my mind but at the same time, there would be one or two in the group who would not like the funny side of it.

At the end of it all I ended up going with Neptune, the planetary Ruler of Pisces (my star sign) in modern Astrology. I am happy with the outcome and rally hope the next theme is not as challenging.

Till next time.

Umm not much happening

Well it has been 12 days since my last post. There has not been much in the way of creative juices flowing. I am in an ATC swap with the Scrapbook Cupboard this year and the theme for January is Zodiac. Boy am I stumped for what to do. I have a prototype card but do not like it. Will have to think if something. They are due Sunday.

Other than that dilemma I have created an ATC for the PaperImageryDesigns Yahoo group. This is the first time I have participated in one of the challenges which was red, pink and green. My green is the little flower button at the bottom of the card. I made three with the other two to be swapped out within the group. Suffice to say they are currently on their way to the new owner and I have two cards coming down under.

Till nex time

Cupcake - fabric ATC

Wow, this is my first ever fabric based ATC. Now being a quilter before a scrapbooker and definately before I started ATC's in 2008 I thought this would be easy. But it was not. Having to think small was a challenge. And I ended up browsing the photo albums in SCQATC yahoo group and found this Cupcake. I am in a birthday swap and have recently found out how many I will have to make this year. At least I can say that I will get better. I have all the stuff here and just to think fabric base and I can go stamping from there on in. These are my no weight gain birthday cupcake for the two people who had their birthday's on New Years Day.

Ralph ATC

Hi all, here it is my first ATC of 2009. This is another one that I have been pondering on what to do. The background is lumiere paint in Halo Blue-Gold, I overstamped it with my crackle effect stamp and black stazon. Under the Microscope slide is the image Ralph from Paper Imagery Designs . I stamped my Tim Holtz Ticket Stamp on to red card and put it together with Copper tape. I quite like this card and though it might look like I did a lot of work to get it, I didn't really. The thinking about what to do was the hard part. Now off to do 6 more and send them to the USA.

Welcome to 2009

Hi All and welcome to 2009.

To start the year off I decided to update my blog. New background and a rather cute butterfly clock. I just love the clock.

I hope you all had a wonderful christmas and new years and are raring to go for 2009 being a very creative year.

So far this year, mind you it is barely 4 days old, I have had a block. I have this swap due in the US in 6 days and have no idea what to do. One of the things I will be learning to make this year is fabric ATC's for one of my otehr groups based here in Australia. It is an offshot of my main quilting group and I found out yesterday that there are 30 people signed up for this particular theme. Mind you in March my mail box will be overflowing as will the others when there birthdays roll around.

The one thing I have done this year is help Katie finish her scrapbook layout from last year. She is very happy with it.

I would love it if you could leave a comment regarding the new layout. You, my readers are the ones who look at it.

Thank you all have a great 2009!
